Artist's Statement:

The purpose behind this proposal is simply to influence people to be more aware of nature and have a new appreciation of trees and their intriguing line and arrangement. Tree branches create interesting positive and negative shapes with the sky as the background. I based this idea from the way the sun shines through branches and leaves of trees which creates little patches of light scattered throughout the branches. Instead of sunlight, I wanted to add color to draw more attention to the branches to make it more visually stimulating. The trees that would be used are located along the sides of the sidewalk behind the Lowden building.
