Using materials ranging from static electricity to perishable food, my installations, sculpture, and performances are allegorical battlegrounds between mindless indulgence and self-control. Sugar sprinkles denote decadence; dirt is a metaphor for mortality. Using ephemeral or discarded materials and intricate futile activity allude to my desire to fix the transitory.
Control and power structures within public and private space are terrain explored in my work. I want the viewer to supply interaction and/or judgment when faced with visual statements of neutrality, acquiescence or contradiction.
